What makes a good photo?

A photo that looks great to me is anything that shows an aspect of nature. In this picture, the lighting is very interesting because it shows the contrast between the darkness in the trees and the brightness in the clouds which balances it really well. In the same time it is also very appealing to the looker. I also used the rules of third by putting 2 similar trees in the sides and a unique tree in the middle. The rules of thirds, lightning, and contrast is very important in photography, without these the photo will definitely be boring. This is a really good example that shows what's a great photo to me.
